Terms and Conditions
Huling na-update: 8 September 2026
1. What Kwenta is
Kwenta is a personal finance tracker. It records the money you tell it about, does the arithmetic, and shows you the result. It is not a bank, not an e-wallet, and not a payment service: no money moves through Kwenta, and a “transfer” between your wallets in the app is a bookkeeping entry, not an actual movement of funds.
2. Not financial advice
Everything in Kwenta — including the insights and the AI Financial Advisor — is general information, not professional advice. We are not licensed financial planners, accountants, tax agents, or lawyers. For decisions about taxes, investments, insurance, or debt, consult a licensed professional who can look at your full situation. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.
AI-generated answers can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important against your own records before acting on it.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, and give a real email address that you can access — we require verification before you can sign in.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- One account per person. Do not share logins — invite someone to a wallet instead, so each person keeps their own account.
- Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
4. Your data is yours
You keep all rights to what you enter. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. You can export your records and you can delete your account at any time — see our Privacy Policy for the detail. We only use your data to run the service for you, and to keep it secure and backed up.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law with Kwenta, or use it to launder money or hide proceeds of crime;
- try to access another person’s account or data, or probe, scan, or attack our systems;
- scrape the service, resell it, or automate it in a way that degrades it for others — our rate limits exist for this reason, and working around them is a breach of these terms;
- upload malware, or images you have no right to upload;
- impersonate anyone, or use Kwenta to harass another user through wallet invites or shared wallets.
If you generate an API key, you are responsible for everything done with it. Revoke keys you no longer use.
6. Plans, limits, and payment
- Kwenta has a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes — features and numeric limits such as the number of wallets, budgets, or goals — is shown on our pricing section, which reflects the current plans at the time you look.
- Paid plans are priced in Philippine pesos and paid in advance for the billing period you choose.
- Payment is currently manual. You contact us, send payment, and submit your proof of payment; your plan activates once a person has reviewed it. This is done by hand, so allow us a little time.
- If we enable online checkout, card and e-wallet payments will be handled by a licensed payment processor. We would never see your card details.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. On cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not refund partial periods.
- If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, we may restrict paid features until it is settled. Your data is not deleted because of a lapsed payment.
Refunds
If Kwenta is materially broken for you and we cannot fix it, email us within 7 days of the charge at app.kwenta@gmail.com and we will refund that billing period. We do not refund because a plan went unused. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
7. Price and feature changes
We may change prices or what a plan includes. For changes that affect what you are already paying for, we will tell you before your next renewal so you can cancel if you disagree. Features may be added, changed, or removed as the product develops.
8. Shared wallets
When you invite someone to a wallet, they can see and add to that wallet’s records. You choose who to invite, and either side can end the arrangement — the owner can remove a member, and a member can leave. Entries a person made stay in the wallet after they leave, because the balance depends on them.
9. Availability
We aim to keep Kwenta up, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and parts may fail — including services we depend on. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; an export takes seconds.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Kwenta at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or puts other users or our systems at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.
11. Our liability
Kwenta is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by Philippine law — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Intellectual property
The Kwenta name, logo, design, and code are ours. These terms give you permission to use the service, not a licence to copy it, rebrand it, or build a competing product from it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before going to court, please email us — most problems are faster to solve directly.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email when the change is significant. Continuing to use Kwenta after a change means you accept the updated terms.
